Get Involved

‎Wednesday, ‎September ‎05, ‎2012, ‏‎5:37:19 PM | adminGo to full article

So sorry to break the bad news to you but the reality is, there are no Trail Faries. Real people work very hard to build and maintain the trails you ride. Watch this page for updates about on-going projects, learn how you can support the work they do and consider giving up one ride a season to give back to the trails you love.

Don’t have the time or inclination for the manual labor that is involved with trail work? There are other ways you can support the work that our volunteers do. Consider buying a Kroger gift card so we can provide lunch and snacks for volunteers and gas for power equipment, donate trail work tools, (Wish List coming soon) or volunteer some time helping the board. We are currently looking for people to help with grant writing and advocacy work.

Email if you can help out or to donate.

Thank you

33 hours given by Volunteers this weekend

Roanoke IMBA would like to thank Brian Batteiger, David Eggleston, Mark Flora, Gordon Tracy, James Wilbourne and Jonathan Yates. These guys contributed a total of 33 hours!!!!!! Saturday work continued on armouring the muddy areas of Tuck-a-Way. They extended the armouring exiting the creek because of all the water that is carried up the trail out of the creek. They also rip rapped the banks all

around the trail interface to the creek crossing to control any errosion and protect all the work that has been done and replaced the logs in one muddy spot with rock armouring which will last many times longer and drain better. The work crew has requested beef jerky and almonds :-) These items will be purchased by Roanoke IMBA and provided to our volunteers thanks to money from T-shirt and stickers sales. Thank you for your support!
